Wendell Scott, MD

Wendell Scott MD is an ophthalmologist at St John’s Clinic Eye Specialists and specializes in cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation. His research interests include antisepsis for eye procedures and the development of new instrumentation for cataract surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Following residency, he remained at the Mason Institute of Ophthalmology as an Assistant Professor. In 1984, he moved to Springfield and joined the Smith-Glynn-Calloway Clinic, which later merged with St John’s Health System. He resides in Springfield with his wife, Dr Jamie Scott, who is a dermatologist. He has three children; Cecilia at MIT, Elliott starting at the UMKC School of Medicine, and Rachel, who will be a Junior at Springfield Catholic High School.
